What should I do prior to laser treatment?

For laser pre-treatment care, you should:

  • Advise LaserMD of all medications, including vitamins, supplements, and topical lotions
  • No sun-tanning
  • No self-tanning or bronzing products
  • Discontinue Retin-A products, hydroquinone, skin-lightening and acidic topical products two weeks prior to treatment
  • No makeup on area to be treated during treatment, we do have make up wipes at the office for your convenience
  • Avoid strenuous activity on the day of treatment
  • For hair removal, DO NOT wax or pluck – but DO shave a few days prior to treatment
  • Be careful not to injure or nick the skin when shaving

What should I do post-laser treatment?

For laser post-treatment care, you should:

  • Use gentle cleansers, such as Epionce® Gentle Foaming Cleanser or Epionce® Milky Lotion Cleanser
  • Apply Epionce® Medical Barrier Cream to hydrate and protect your skin, re-applying as needed.
  • Mineral makeup may be applied as an anti-inflammatory and cover-up
  • May take 25-50mg Benadryl the night after laser treatment to reduce redness and swelling
  • Avoid sun exposure and use Epionce® SPF 50 or equivalent Suncreen for 4 weeks post-treatment
  • Epionce® Priming Oil and Epionce® Enriched firming mask can also be used to calm, hydrate, and protect your skin
  • Re-start Retin-A products, hydroquinone, skin-lightening, and acidic topical products two weeks after your laser series
  • Avoid strenuous activity for 24 hours post-treatment
  • Call 911 if medical emergency
  • Call LaserMD if you have any questions; we are happy to be of service

What should I do prior to filler treatment?

For Injection pre-treatment care, you should:

  • Advise LaserMD of all medications, including vitamins, supplements, and topical lotions
  • Stop taking Vitamin E, fish oil, Anti-inflammatory agents such as Ibuprofen, Aleve and all aspirin products prior to treatment
  • If you have a history of cold sores, please call your Primary Care Physician for a prescription and begin treatment 2 days prior to injection
  • No makeup on area to be treated prior to injection
  • Avoid strenuous activity on the day of injections
  • Consider taking Arnica 2 days prior, during and 2 days following your injections.

What should I do post-filler treatment?

For injection post-treatment care, you should:

  • Redness and bruising may last hours, days, or weeks
  • Swelling is common and may last hours, days, or weeks depending on location of injections.
  • Rest, use ice, avoid strenuous activity
  • Elevation – sleep with treatment location elevated if possible
  • Keep injection sites clean and dry for the first 24 hours, then apply Epionce® Medical Barrier Cream, Epionce® Enriched Firming mask to calm and hydrate the skin.
  • Mineral makeup may be applied 24 hours post-injection as an anti-inflammatory as well
  • Call 911 if medical emergency, such as difficulty breathing
